Biological hazards at the nurse's workplace

Occupational exposure to blood is a significant problem among health care workers. Nurses are group that particularly at risk. Exposure can lead HBV, HCV or HIV infection. Extremely important for preventing exposures improving knowledge of medical personnel about consequences being infected by bloodborne pathogens, preventive measures and advantages using those measures, especially post-exposure proceedings. The aim the study was assess opinions nurses employed in anesthesiology intensive wards on occupational management. Material methods: A diagnostic survey method research author’s questionnaire. included 117 working units. Statistical analysis results carried out descriptive statistics method. During statistical verification p<0.05 assumed as level significance obtained results. Results conclusions: surveyed were not dependent sociodemographic factors. use personal protective equipment know procedure, but don’t always follow it. Training doesn’t reduce number cases. most common mechanism needle-stick injury.
